they came in roughly one week ago. and after spending one week in them. i have already learnt alot. i have seen alot. alot that i never thought i will ever get involved with.

most of them have tatoos. all over their body. most of them smokes heavily. some of their highest education level are PSLE. most of them came from broken families. come from different gangs. did alot of unthinkable stuff. fights. stealing. police reports. etc etc.

its like a hong kong drama movie. almost too much a challenge for me. a real big headache. suddenly i have 50 families and 50 lifes to worry about.

but i believe it is our job as commanders to take care of our men. to lead them to the way of the light and not push them deeper into the dark. no people are born bad. they grow up to be bad. i have seen the ugly and rotten side of our society. the side of our society that judges people on their academic results and learning education level. that side that punishes those who are not interested in academic development or lack learning capabilities and leaves them in a dark corner to rot and wither away.

so it is our duty to, maybe for the first time in their lifes, provide someone who believes in them. someone who believes that they still have that little bit of goodness buried deep within them and its our job to bring that goodness out and make them change for the better. when we give them a chance, we too give ourselves a chance.

it is not going to an easy task. in fact its going to be a horrendous and difficult task. we need to have the patience and faith.

have the faith that underneath all the thick layer of dark and dirty mud, there is a small peice of diamond waiting for its turn to shine.
