the houston rockets has won 22 games in a row after an impressive 104-92 win over kobe bryant's los angeles lakers! the winning streak is all-time 2nd longest. the longest winning streak all-time is 33 straight wins by the 1971-1972 los angeles lakers led by wilt chamberlain.
with one of their two superstars, yao ming, out for the rest of the season due to injury, the rest of the team needs to step up their game to fill up his big empty shoes in the middle. the houston rockets have now won 10 straight games in the absence of yao ming.
without fellow superstar, yao ming, to watch his back, T-Mac (left) is left on his own to lead the team.
and so far there is pretty much no stopping the seven time all-star, carrying the houston rockets team on his back.
the seemingly ageless 41 year old Dikembe Mutombo #55 has been the person trying to feel up (partially) the void left behind by yao ming. of course with plenty of help from his teammates.
their coach Rick Adelman constantly reminding them that the main goal is the championship trophy.
"we are going for 23 straight wins and you are not stopping us!"
